Where “Patriotism” is a Four-Letter Word

Michelle Malkin reports a shameful thing.

From the King Philip Regional Secondary School District website:

The school will seek to ensure:

  • Global awareness
  • Multicultural diversity
  • Life-long learning
  • Educational opportunity
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Student ownership of learning
  • Shared decision making

Core Values

  • Centrality of classroom instruction
  • Respect for diversity
  • Communication
  • Working in Teams

Seems like their decision flies in the face of about half their “mission statement.” Could it be that this is another example of loony-leftist hypocrisy, where, like Humpty Dumpty in Alice in Wonderland, “when they use a word, it means just what they choose it to mean - neither more nor less”?

This appears to be a public high school. A ban on the presence of military personnel appears to violate the spirit, if not the intent, of the “No Child Left Behind” Act. I hope that local, state and Federal officials will take note and act accordingly.

These people would not even have the right to hold any opinions at all, without the willingness of those in the military to fight and die for the freedoms they so cavalierly hold.
